the golden opportunity was hiding before my eyes

no one noticed it.

no one saw it.

no one cared.

Until I found it sparkling like a lucid gem from the deep

Last Sunday, I was in the Butchers by my rents gaff, having a butchers at some sausages, some banging bangers for the barbie.

The Butchers, Bevan’s, is in Effingham, Surrey - a load a middle-aged blokes clamoured for some“Effin’ Ham”.

“Alright, guv - got any effi’n ham?”

Middle aged men with Oakley sunglasses (avec a strap) in Fat Face three quarter lengths, veiling a cacophony of cankles. All harboured acrimonious feelings towards their “better” half who told them to get out the fucking house and get some “effin’ ham”.

I love barbies - wiling away long sun-dappled Summer evenings - splendid-squiffy - stuffing your boat with unabashed gluttony.

Anyhoo, I saw, maybe, just maybe, the next big opportunity in food and drink.

Right now, two things aren’t going away

  1. Protein

  2. Foodies

Protein is plastered here, there, and everywhere

You could stick “Protein” on a dildo or a postbox n’ you’d shift gear

The foodie movement is getting bigger and bigger and BIGGER-

Ottolenghi, Gymkhana, All Things Butter, Bold Bean Co. crushing super market shelves

Surely, there’s an eggselcent opportunity for Clarence Court

Those Egg pots in meal deals sell really well - why is no one premiumising them?

Boujee Eggs. Banging Flavours.

Harrisa. Miso Soy. Vietnamese.

The marriage of wellness with well-delicious is a thing.

The only caveat:

You’d look a bit weird eating boiled eggs on the tube,

But, saying that, I once saw a bloke nuking a Wasabi Katsu Curry on a train in 28 degree July heat.

(It was all over his fingers too)

Pretty much any category can be premiumised, it’s often hiding in plain sight

Look for dusty categories with a huge total addressable market

Gold is often hiding htere

Have a top weekend!!
